Player Character Races[]
Dark Sun provides players with a unique pool of sapient species to choose for their character. Some stock Dungeons & Dragons races, including gnomes, goblins, and orcs, are entirely absent from the setting, while others - like the hairless dwarves and the cannibalistic halflings - have been unique characteristics that set them apart from their counterparts' appearances in other settings.
